Occasionally one or both members of a couple may be dissatisfied with their relationship and find the relationship distressing. This is not uncommon.
Couples may seek counselling because they feel that they have grown apart and cannot communicate well with each other. There may be difficulties around family finances, household tasks or child care. A couple may have sexual problems or one partner is involved in an affair. Individuals sometimes want a confidential space to talk about their important relationships. Counselling may help improve the relationship or support the couple in making decisions about the future.
Your therapist is an experienced, accredited and registered counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and the United Kingdom Register of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Your first session will be a consultation session designed to assess your difficulty or problem. This also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and to look at whether counselling will be useful for you at this time. There is no obligation on either side.
